NOTICE YOUR OWN PROGRESS
I hope you have been noticing your own progress! I suggest you make a list of at least five positive changes you’ve made so far this year. Open a file on your computer right now called “My Successes”. Start by putting these five successes on your list. By writing it down you are sending yourself a positive message: “You deserve your time and energy”. You are showing up for yourself! You will be increasing your own sense of worth. Then share your accomplishments with a supportive friend or family member. Next stop and reward yourself, spend an afternoon at the beach, take yourself to the theater, enjoy dinner with a friend, or buy yourself a gift. This taking stock of your successes contributes to enjoyment of life as you go as opposed to going on and on toward a goal and then getting there and having that “Is that all there is?” feeling. Then what? Then you go on to the next goal without enjoying that one either!
